This magnificent example of Kērala architecture is located at a distance of about 4 km from Thootha bus stop in Perintalmaṇṇa-Pālakkād route (distance 10 km). The Thootha bus stop adjoins the Thoothappuzha. The western facade of the temple is approached through a flight of steps and is at a good elevation from the surrounding fields. The pratiṣṭha is placed at a relatively elevated position than the usual levels. The sōpānaṃ of the east facing temple is approached by climbing about 6 steps to reach the top of the upapīṭha. The sōpānaṃ leading to the Śrīkōvil has another 6-7 steps. There is no namaskāra maṇḍapam in front of the śrīkōvil. Śiva is worshipped here as the main deity.
The photo prints which were scanned had suffered much damage. The temple was photographed sometime between 1995-2000.
